Roasted Bengal Gram Chutney
A Chutney to go with idli and dosa
Ingredients:
- Roasted Bengal gram – 50gms
- Roasted Peanuts – 10 gms
- Ginger – ½ inch
- Tamarind – ¼ small piece soaked in water
- Green chillies -1 ½ chilli or more as per your taste
- Water -1/2 cup
- Salt-1/4tsp or as per dietician’s advice
- For tempering (optional) – few mustard seeds,urad dal,curry leaves and dried chillies
- Portion size: 1 bowl (300g)
- Serving size: 2 tbsp (30g)

Procedure:
- In the chutney jar, add roasted Bengal gram, roasted peanuts, green chilli, soaked tamarind with the water, ginger and salt.
- Grind it coarsely first and then add required water to get chutney consistency and grind again
- Remove the chutney into a bowl
- Temper the chutney and serve with Idlis/Dosas
