Bengaluru, April 2, 2026: NephroPlus, a leading dialysis care provider in India, has introduced an AI-enabled smart monitoring system at KCG Hospitals, Bengaluru, aimed at strengthening patient safety and clinical quality under the Government of Karnataka’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) dialysis programme. The initiative integrates advanced AI-based surveillance technology into dialysis centres operated by NephroPlus, supporting improved clinical oversight, transparency, and standardized care delivery.
The monitoring system enables healthcare teams to track critical dialysis parameters—including blood pressure, fluid removal, and electrolyte balance—in real time. Continuous monitoring helps us in redefining patient care and safety during dialysis treatment.
Currently implemented across seven dialysis centres, the system tracks 28 key parameters spanning clinical care, patient safety, Beds availability, staff alertness, emergency preparedness, security compliance (unauthorised entry), infection control, overall hygiene, and operational efficiency. The platform provides a digital governance layer that allows dialysis centres to monitor treatment quality consistently while enabling administrators and clinical teams to review performance indicators and strengthen quality assurance processes.
By leveraging real-time analytics and automated monitoring capabilities, the initiative supports improved data-driven clinical and operational decision-making in dialysis care. By shifting from periodic audits to always-on monitoring, the initiative establishes a strong governance layer that is objective, data-driven, and minimally dependent on manual intervention.
The system currently operates at an accuracy level of 85–95 percent, with ongoing refinements expected to further improve performance and predictive capabilities.
Mr. Rohit Singh, Group Chief Executive Officer, Nephrocare Health Services Limited, said: “Dialysis care requires close and consistent monitoring during every treatment session. As our network grows and serves more Guests across centres, strengthening clinical oversight becomes even more important. The introduction of AI-enabled monitoring helps our teams track key treatment parameters in real time and maintain the same standards of care across facilities. For our Guests, this means safer dialysis treatments and the reassurance that their care is supported by strong systems and the thoughtful use of technology.” The launch event was attended by Sri Dinesh Gundu Rao, Hon’ble Health Minister of Karnataka, along with the Deputy Director – NCD, State Health and Family Welfare, Arogya Soudha.
Speaking at the event, Sri Dinesh Gundu Rao, said: Karnataka has been committed to expanding access to dialysis services through the Public-Private Partnership model. The introduction of AI-enabled monitoring systems further strengthens this effort by improving clinical oversight, enhancing patient safety, and ensuring adherence to high treatment standards. It is encouraging to see how innovation and partnerships can work together to ensure that dialysis services delivered under the PPP programme are now delivering outcomes better than with private sector standards."
Live demonstrations of the AI dashboards were conducted during the launch event, showcasing how the system enables real-time monitoring of dialysis procedures and strengthens quality assurance across dialysis centres.
Key messages from the launch include:
• Introduction of an AI-based surveillance system enabling real-time monitoring of dialysis treatments.
• Strengthening of the Karnataka PPP dialysis programme through improved clinical governance and
monitoring.
• Demonstration that dialysis services delivered under the PPP model can achieve quality standards
comparable to private healthcare providers.
