Irani Onion Samosa

Ingredients:

For Stuffing :

  • Onions sliced – 2
  • Thin Poha – a handful / 30g
  • Turmeric powder – Âĵ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder – Âĵ tsp
  • Salt-1/4tsp or as per dietician’s advice
  • Chaat Masala – ½ tsp
  • Green Chilly – 1 finely chopped
  • For Covering :

  • Maida – 1 cup
  • Corn Flour – 1 tbsp
  • Water to knead the dough

  • Maida slurry or paste
  • Oil for deep fry

    Procedure:

    • Firstly, in a large bowl take sliced onion, poha, 1 chilli and 1 tsp chilli powder also add ½ tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp chaat masala, Âĵ tsp salt and Âĵ tsp turmeric powder
    • Mix well by squeezing onions.
    • Prepare a stiff maida dough by mixing maida, cornflour and water and rest it for ten minutes.
    • Take a small ball roll it into a thin puri and cut it into a semi-circle. Fill the stuffing after making a triangle shape securing the dough well with a maida slurry or paste.
    • Heat oil in a Kadai, deep fry the Samosas till they are golden brown in colour and serve hot with your chai this monsoon season.
