Kande Pohe

Ingredients:

  • Pohe, medium thick flakes 1 cup
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • Mustard Seeds 1 tsp
  • Hing A pinch
  • Curry Leaves 1 sprig
  • Green Chili, split 2 in no
  • Onion, chopped 1 small
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Peanuts 1 tsp (optional)
  • Sugar ½ tsp (optional)
  • Corriander, chopped 1 tsp (optional)
  • Salt 1/8 tsp (As suggested by dietitian)

    Procedure:

    • Add pohe to a colander and quick rinse them under running water. Drain water completely and keep aside.
    • In a kadai, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Let it splutter.
    • Add Hing, split chili, curry leaves, and peanuts (optional) and fry for 1 minute.
    • Now, add onion and fry until it turns translucent.
    • Add turmeric, salt, and sugar. Mix it evenly.
    • Now, add soaked pohe. Mix well and cover with a lid and steam it for another 2-3 minutes.
    • Garnish with coriander (optional) and serve hot.
