Poha Cutlet

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup/200gm Thick Poha/Rice flakes
  • 2 Medium sized Potato (Leached, Boiled & Mashed)
  • 1/4th teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/4th teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala powder
  • 1/4th teaspoon Amchur/Dry Mango powder
  • 1 tbsp Corn Flour
  • ½ tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tbsp Maida/Refined flour
  • ½ cup/100gms Bread Crumbs
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp or as per dietician’s advice
  • 3-4 tbsp Oil for shallow frying

    Procedure:

    • Firstly, add 1 cup washed poha and 2 leached, boiled and mashed potatoes in a bowl.
    • To it, add Âĵ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp garam masala powder, Âĵ tsp amchur, and ½ tsp ginger garlic paste.
    • Add 1 tbsp corn flour and ½ tsp salt and mix well.
    • Prepare small ball-sized patties, greasing hands with oil.
    • Make a slurry of maida and cornflour, then dip the cutlets in the maida-corn flour batter and coat with bread crumbs on all sides.
    • Now, shallow fry or pan fry in hot oil till golden on both sides.
    • Serve hot.
