Soya Granules Upma

Ingredients:

  • Soya granules - 100 grams
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Jeera - 1 teaspoon
  • Urad dal (split black lentil) - 5 grams
  • Ginger - 5 grams
  • Green chili - 1 no.
  • Finely chopped onions - 25 grams
  • Grated carrot - 25 grams
  • Capsicum - 25 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt as per recommendation

    Procedure:

    • Soak the soya granules in hot water for approximately 15 minutes. Drain and squeeze out all the water, then keep aside.
    • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin and jeera seeds.
    • When the seeds crackle, add the urad dal and sauté on a medium flame until the dal turns light brown.
    • Add ginger, green chili, and onions, and sauté on medium flame for 1-2 minutes until the onions turn light brown in color.
    • Add the carrots and capsicum, and sauté on medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
    • Add the soaked soya granules, salt, and lemon juice, mix well, and cook on medium flame for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    • Serve hot.
