Strawberry Syrup

Ingredients:

  • Strawberries 200gms
  • Sugar ½ cup (100gms)
  • Water ½ cup

    Procedure:

    • Wash and chop the strawberries.
    • Put all the ingredients in a thick-bottomed vessel.
    • Cook for approximately 10-15 minutes on medium heat.
    • Set a mesh sieve over a mixing bowl, strain the syrup over the sieve.
    • Discard the berries or keep them aside for later use.
    • Pour the syrup back into the vessel.
    • Bring it back to a boil on low flame for about 10-15 minutes or until the syrup slightly thickens.
    • Remove the vessel from the heat and store it in a glass container.
    • Strawberry syrup can be stored for up to 2 weeks in a refrigerator.
